Third-party connections that do not set cookies
Some elements of the pages are loaded from external servers. Even where they leave no cookie in your browser, those servers receive your IP address and the technical data that accompany any web request.

Some links on the Website also lead to Amazon and are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you out of here and into Amazon, which sets its own cookies to attribute the purchase. Those cookies are Amazon's and are governed by its policy, not by this one.
What the cookies on this Website are not used for
They are not used to show you advertising, whether our own or anyone else's, and the data they collect are neither sold nor passed to advertising intermediaries.
One point deserves to be stated plainly. If you accept the tracking cookies and you are also subscribed to the newsletter, the email platform links the pages you visit to your subscriber record. That makes it possible, for example, to send you information about a book whose page you have looked at. It is a profile, modest but a profile, and that is why it depends on your consent and why you may withdraw it whenever you wish.
Consent
On your first visit a notice appears with three options: accept, reject and settings. Strictly necessary cookies are installed in any case, because without them the Website does not work and the law exempts them from consent. Analytics and tracking cookies are installed only if you accept them.

Where these data are processed
Data collected through the ActiveCampaign cookies are hosted in its data centre located in Frankfurt, Germany. Profile pictures are served by Automattic, Inc., based in the United States, and the typefaces by Google Ireland Limited from servers that may sit outside the European Union. Both transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
